Project
Cohesin is a highly conserved ring complex that encircles chromatin fibers. Recent genome analyses have identified recurrent mutations in the STAG2 subunit of cohesin in a wide range of human cancers. The aim of this project is to identify specific vulnerabilities of cancer cells carrying cohesin mutations that could be exploited therapeutically in the future. This project is run as a close collaboration between BI in Vienna and the laboratories of Johannes Zuber and Jan-Michael Peters at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP).
Output:
Petra van der Lelij*, Simone Lieb* et al. (2017). Synthetic lethality between the cohesin subunits STAG1 and STAG2 in diverse cancer contexts. Accepted for publication in eLife.
