Project
Cytotoxic CD8 T cells are often functionally suppressed by the tumor microenvironment. Therapies aimed at re-establishing or enhancing CD8 T cell function in human tumors have led to major clinical breakthroughs. Though, the success of such immunotherapies remains limited to certain cancer types and T cell intrinsic mechanisms mediating suppression remain incompletely understood. Our aim is to genetically study T cell suppression pathways and search for additional (potentially small-molecule) immunomodulatory targets by multiplexed CRISPR/Cas9-based screening methodology in CD8 T cells.
