Project
Establishment of a robust system for the modulation of target gene expression. To this end, adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) will be used as a tool for the delivery of CRISPR/Cas or RNAi which will be compared head-to-head in vivo. Parameters such as construct size, applicability and most importantly gene knock-out/knock-down efficiency will be assessed. Ultimately, one functional and robust system to alter gene expression should emerge that can be applied for upcoming target validations.

Research interests:
- Production, purification and QC of viral vectors (AAV and LV) for preclinical research
- Target validation by AAV-mediated overexpression or knock-down of a target gene in rodent animal models
- Transduction (transient and stable) of cell lines, primary cells and organoids
