"Since Boehringer Ingelheim is a multinational company, we have opportunities to communicate with people from all over the world…"
Timofey Maksimov, Commercial Manager, Business Functions
BI is a huge part of my life, because I’ve participated in each stage of developing the company’s Animal Health business in Russia since it began in 2009.
My way to Boehringer Ingelheim
I was the third employee to join the department in March 2010, and sales began in the middle of that year. Today I am the commercial manager for poultry products, and based in St. Petersburg.
BI’s Animal Health team in Russia is composed of 25 people in sales, technical and marketing departments. I would describe the work atmosphere as very friendly, open and constructive. Everyone knows that they are a part of a big team with the same goal. We try to complete our personal targets, and provide support to colleagues when needed.
My responsibilities include winning and managing key account clients in the poultry and swine business, developing and managing key account plans and activities for Russian swine clients, managing BI’s Animal Health network of distributors, achieving annual sales plans for poultry and swine products by promoting them to existing and new clients, and coordinating the sales team."
My typical working day at Boehringer Ingelheim
A typical workday for me starts at 8am with coffee. At 9am, I review daily and weekly plans and targets, and then work on sending emails and other communications. I try to have lunch with clients. From 3pm to 5pm, I work on emails and business calls, and then review that day’s work. From 5:30pm to 6pm I get ready for the next day, preparing plans, presentations and negotiations. I also try to have dinner with a client, if possible.
