Why I work for Boehringer Ingelheim
From the human perspective, you’re trying to develop a drug that helps someone feel a little bit better. You know that while it might not be a cure, it could be a treatment that improves someone’s quality of life - or even keeps them alive. To be able to make that kind of contribution is what brings me to work and makes me say ‘Ok, I really want to do this.’
This sense of giving also continues outside of work. Whenever there’s an opportunity to participate in my church outreach programme, for example, my colleagues at Boehringer Ingelheim get together as a family. If there are people in need, why not go and help?
