My name is Lyudmila Stolyarova and I started working at Boehringer Ingelheim’s Moscow office seven years ago as the Product Manager for Micardis. I attained good results in marketing and sales, and was promoted to the position of Cardio Franchise Head within 1.5 years, where I began to work on BI’s entire portfolio of cardio medicine in Russia. Today, I am in the same position, working with new excellent BI cardio products. BI is my second home, where I lead, learn, communicate and enjoy myself.

My responsibilities at BI are to meet concrete goals for sales and market shares of its products in Russia, which can only be achieved with successful teamwork. One of my responsibilities is to lead and organise work with the medical marketing team, and I also collaborate with medical experts, medical societies and institutes. In addition, I work with colleagues in other BI departments on different cross-functional projects, to lead and attain key performance indicators.
My team is composed of one assistant and four product managers, and I am also responsible for their professional development. I try to help them learn by doing. I think our team culture is very European in that it is open, democratic and supportive. The team functions smoothly, and we inspire each other daily with ideas, support and a sense of humour. My team frequently collaborates with BI colleagues both nationally and globally. We receive a lot of support and leadership from BI global and the regional centre in Vienna. One of my future goals is to have the opportunity to work abroad.
My typical working day at Boehringer Ingelheim
My typical workday begins at 9am with a short team meeting over coffee and tea. From 9:30am to 11am, I participate in cross-functional meetings for projects and brand targets. From 11am until noon, I respond to and write emails, and write up meeting minutes. From noon to 2pm, I meet with medical experts, often over lunch. From 3pm to 5pm, I meet with brand teams, and from 5pm to 6pm, I spend more time working on emails and meeting minutes.
